Carlos Mendez grew up in Belle Glade, started a roofing company at 24, and now employs 30 people across the district. After Hurricane Ian, he organized 14 truckloads of supplies for neighbors who lost everything.
He's running for the State House because the people making decisions in Tallahassee don't look like, sound like, or struggle like the families he sees every day on the job.
